Magic The Gathering - Malaysia

On the 15th and 16th of August, GACC 2009, a games, anime and comic convention was held in Multimedia University, Melaka Campus, and as part of the organizing committee efforts to offer more entertainment options and competitive opportunities into the event, I was invited to provide those services with the help of Hasbro Malaysia.



2 Magic tournaments are offered over the 2 days while Hasbro games are exhibited and demo'ed throughout the 2 days, with games like the new Monopoly Deal card game, Risk and Cluedo, while introductory games to Magic: The Gathering was also offered to the visiting public as part as the Non-Electronic Games division for GACC 2009.

GACC 2009 Magic: The Gathering Day 1 Tournament (Sealed Deck)
Saturday, 15th August 2009

Format:

Sealed Deck (Magic Core Set 2010)

(Construct a minimum 40-card deck from 6 boosters worth of cards. Basic lands are provided and there is no limit on how many basic lands you may play in your deck)

Entry Fee:

RM75 (RM70 if pre-registered)

(Play in both Day 1 & 2 tournament for only RM75!)

Prizes

1st - 24 M10 boosters
2nd - 12 M10 boosters
3rd-4th - 6 M10 boosters
5th-8th - 4 M10 boosters
9th-16th - 2 M10 boosters

Additional information for BOTH tournaments:

1. Prizes to be given out at the end of the last round.

2. Round starting time is as scheduled so that you can hang around the venue and enjoy the event between rounds. (Don't forget to sync your watches with the tournament organizer!)

3. Final standings are determined by swiss standings at the end of the last round.

4. Deck registration lists will be used! Please remember to take your decklist when you register (or confirm participation if you pre-registered), decklists will be collected before round 1.

Calling all Melaka players! MMU Melaka is holding a Shards of Alara launch party!

Organized by this writer, this is a chance for all Melaka players to experience a Launch Party and obtain the exclusive promotional cards without having to travel to KL or Singapore for the nearest store! (and also a shameless plug about my own event. /sheepish)
