Both players happy with their opening hands, started off the game with a Mogg Fanatic from Nazim followed up quickly with a Pyrostatic Pillar after his Fanatic took Zac down to 19. Zac sacrificed his fetch land to take himself down to 18 and was then troubled by the Pillar. He went down to 17 from another attack from the Fanatic after which a Lava Spike from Nazim took himself to 18 but put Zac at 14, followed up with a suspended Rift Bolt.

All Zac played was a Riptide Laboratory on his following turn. At the beginning of Nazim's following turn, he went down to 16 as the Rift Bolt resolved, taking 2 points of damage from his own Pillar, but the spell also took Zac to 11. Nazim quickly followed up with another attack from Mogg Fanatic to take Zac to 10. A Magma Jet from Nazim also went unopposed which then took Zac to 8 and Nazim to 14. The Fanatic chipped another point off Zac to 7 before Nazim played a Blinkmoth Nexus.

Zac mulled over his options at the end of Nazim's turn but decided to do nothing after all. Nazim however had an Incinerate which took Nazim to 12 from the Pillar but Zac chose to counter it with a Mana Leak which took him to 5 with the 2 damage from the Pillar. A Shard Volley took Zac to 2 and it was just enough for Nazim to send his creatures into the red zone for the win with his Fanatic and animated Nexus.

Game 2

Zac started off with a Chrome Mox imprinting a Glen Elendra Archmage and a Polluted Delta which fetched a Breeding Pool for Zac in response to Nazim's playing of a Mogg Fanatic. Zac then followed up with another Polluted Delta on his following turn. Nazim played his Blinkmoth Nexus before attacking with his Fanatic which chipped a point off Zac to put him at 18. Zac cracked his Delta again taking himself to 17 fetching a Steam Vents before playing a Riptide Laboratory and a Glen-Elendra Archmage before passing his turn.

Nazim then attacked again with his Fanatic, which was blocked by Zac’s Archmage. With damage on the stack, Nazim sacrificed his Fanatic to deal another 1 point of damage to the Archmage to kill it off. The Archmage returned to play thanks to persist before another Fanatic and Keldon Marauders entered play for Nazim.

Zac then played a Ghost Quarters and passed his turn. Nazim mulled over his choices before attacking with both his creatures. His Marauders got blocked by Zac's Archmage while the Fanatic went through for another point of damage. Nazim tried to play a Pyrostatic Pillar but Zac was ready with a counter spell, as well as another counter spell to counter Nazim’s Magma Jet.

A cycled Lonely Sandbar drew Zac a Mutavault and when Nazim tried to play a Shrapnel Blast, Zac went down to 10 and it was quickly followed by a Shard Volley and Incinerate which took Zac down to 4 but emptied Nazim's hand.

Zac then went on the offense, hitting Nazim with his animated Mutavault to chip him down to 16, but Nazim has nothing for a couple of turns. Then when Zac tried to play a Thirst for Knowledge at the end of Nazim's turn, Nazim took the opportunity to try to push in a Magma Jet in response to Zac's spell but Zac had a Spellstutter Sprite to counter it but not before cracking another fetch land to take himself to 3. Zac then found an Umezawa's Jitte and quickly cast the artifact spell and equipped onto his 1/1 Sprite, ready to turn the game around after a strong start from Nazim. Nazim then decided to just concede to move on to the rubber game.

Game 3

Nazim started off the game with a suspended Rift Bolt after he took a mulligan to 6. The spell took Zac to 17 while Nazim followed up with another suspended Rift Bolt and a Blinkmoth Nexus. Zac cracked his Polluted Delta to take himself to 16 before playing a Steam Vents tapped. Nazim's Rift Bolt took Zac to 13 before his animated Nexus took Zac to 12 and a Seal of Fire finished off Nazim's turn. Zac then played a Mutavault and when Nazim tried to hit Zac with his Nexus again, Zac tried to put out a Spellstutter Sprite to block, but it got killed before the declaring blockers step, taking Zac to 11.

When Nazim tried to take another point off Zac again with his Nexus, Zac had another Sprite, but this time Nazim was forced or chose to trade his Nexus with Zac's Sprite. Zac then played another Mutavault and a Glen Elendra Archmage, which got responded by an Incinerate to Zac from Nazim. Zac cracked his fetch land for an island before going down to 7 from the Incinerate. A Mogg Fanatic entered play for Nazim. Zac then sent his Archmage into combat on his next two turns to take Nazim to 16 with the 2/2 flyer.

A Pyrostatic Pillar from Nazim met an Annul while the Archmage took another 2 off Nazim to take him to 14. A Lava Spike was countered by a Spellstutter Sprite but not before Nazim responded with a Shard Volley on Zac. Zac thought about it for a while before deciding to Mana Leak it. Zac then on his following turn played an Academy Ruins before sending in his 2/2 and 1/1 flyers to take Nazim down to 11 before adding another Archmage to the board for himself.

Nazim appeared to have drawn blanks as he did nothing while Zac hit hard with his flying army, along with 2 animated Mutavaults to take Nazim to 2 before finishing him off with another quick combat step.
