Rise of the Eldrazi Prerelease Card

As you may already know (and if you don't, we're making it our business to inform you right now), the Rise of the Eldrazi Prerelease will be on the weekend of April 17-18. And if you go to one and play in the event, and if supplies hold out, you'll get one of these lovely alternate-art foil cards:

Photobucket

Note that the date of the Prerelease is stamped on it, which will come in handy if you're having trouble remembering when it is. Of course, you won't have the card until after the event, but maybe you'll wander through a temporal anomaly or something. And then you'll have a handy reference. Look, it's good to be prepared, okay?

Looks like the official spoiler season had started and we're treated to an introduction of the Design team with an article from Mark Rosewater and a detailed introduction to the story of Rise of the Eldrazi with alot of background on Zendikar.

Also, we got a sneak peak into the set's Swamp art. Sadly, despite the awesome panorama that it will form, it also serves as a reminder that there will be no longer full art lands like the ones in Zendikar and Worldwake.

Thanks again J]-[UN and everyone else who contributed at the thread!

A brief report of the Shamsul vs Nazim semifinals match is also provided by user maidia. Report below!

Brief report semi-final of Shamsul and Nazim (2-1 to Shamsul). Feel free to correct me.

Game 1
Nazim took the first game with just 5 turn, hitting hard with goblin guides, hellspark elemental and burn spells. No time for Shamsul to recover.

Game 2
After sideboarding in the 'hate red' creature (pronounced Kor Firewalker), Shamsul kept 7 hand grip with the 2/2. No prize guessing the 2nd turn play from Shamsul.

Game 3
We have an epic top deck from Shamsul in the third game.

Shamsul goes to paris on the first 7. Then he kept the next 6 cards, but no Firewalker. I only saw a knight of the white orchid for the 2nd turn play.

Nazim starts with a mountain. Shamsul plays tapped land (UW manland, if i remember correctly).

Then Goblin Guide (GG) hits the table for 2, shamsul summons a Firewalker and viola! he reveals himself.
Shamsul plays the creature and passed.

Nazim draws and thinks for a while, then GG swings. when the Firewalker blocks, nazim reveals unstable footing. it's looking good for burn eventhough trading 1 for 2-and-1-life.

Unfortunately, Shamsul draws the Firewalker's brother and soon put the game out of reach from Nazim for the 3 hours at chill-out club (copyright-icky)
