The September League comes to an end with a bunch of players now being RM1,500 richer or was on the receiving end of quite a number of consolation booster packs for their efforts. From the get go and week after week, Nik Nadzru Iskandar and Zac D Hill lead the pack on the Constructed and Limited front respectively, and both of them led the race all the way to the finish line brushing off challenges from all sides.

In the meantime, CCEGAMES announced not only a continuation to their big cash league, with a brand new league starting for October... They decided to INCREASE the payout to RM1,800.

Writeup on the end of the the September League by CCEGAMES

The September league finally drawn to a close on Saturday with Matchday 7 deciding the overall final standings for the Standard Portion. Clement Lim and Eddy Ng both turned up for the final day of play to attempt to get an advantage over the "absent" leader Nik Nadzru. But to everyone's surprise it was just a ruse as Nik showed up and showed up big raking in the 9 points he needed to seal the deal to become CCEGAMES.COM Standard Challenge winner walking away with a cool RM500 cash!!!

Nik didnt need 9 of those points though, in fact he needed only just 4 as Eddy could only muster 2-2 for the day while Clement managed only 4 points and droppped to 4th in the standings. Hari pulled all the stops with his Kungfu panda kicks and climbed up a slot to finish tied 2nd and a share of the bigger prize pool with Eddy. Michael Toh stayed consistent in the money to finish 5th.

Over at the draft tables, as expected Zac wasnt all too eager to draft on the last day of play sitting pretty with a 12 point advantage. Others wanted to get together and at least improve on their position to be in the money. But it all came down to second place winner, Shah who basically decided to settle for second place and RM125 for his troubles. Zac emerged the champion with a nice RM250 to his purse.

Introduction to the RM1,800 October League by CCEGAMES

Off the back of a successful September League, CCEGAMES.COM welcomes back competitors for another round of competition, putting in a larger cash pool of RM1,800!!

MATCHDAY PREVIEW

Standard Challenge
Nik Nadzru will be back this weekend to try and make his mark again after "easily" dodging his way to the top prize last month. But with Time Spiral Block and Coldsnap rotating out effective this weekend and Shards barely released for few days, Lorwyn block constructed decks will make their showing - Faeries, Doran, Quick & Toast. Certain league loyalists will be on try and gain an advantage over the unwary players taking part in the Shards release weekend on Sunday....

Six matchdays for this month with a maximum points of 54 points to be earned from the standard portion. Nik Nadzru captured first place with 48 of the available 66 points (73% win record). Thats a tall order to match and with roughly 40 points needed to win the first prize, ARE YOU up to the challenge??

Draft Challenge
American superstar Zac Hill basically ran away with last months draft raking in a whopping 54 points, 12 points ahead of his closest rival Shah... but with monocolour Shadowmoor & Eventide being pushed aside for all new multi-colour frenzy of Shards, will Zac be able to walk away with the top prize like he did the last time? Early research and consistency is the key here and triple Shards will definately cause a few heads to spin. Cash pool is now a cool RM300 for the winner and thats more enough to cover almost 10 drafts. So ARE YOU up to the challenge??

Another exciting incentive to play by CCEGAMES - it is very exciting and I for one feels that CCEGAMES is really leading the local industry in terms of developing and encouraging Pro play locally. I could only wish that CCEGAMES was alot more convenient for me to get to, and the fact that I'm based in Melaka isn't making things any much easier for me, sadly.

But I digress - thank you CCEGAMES! I urge readers of this blog to please do show up and play once or twice even if you don't plan to go all the way to help support this initiative! ;)
